On occasion I get us (me, myself and I) into somewhat of a pickle with the house projects that I want done. How you ask? I have this uncanny knack for coming up with awesome ideas that may (or may not) take a weekend to complete.
A good example of this would be like the time I decided to remodel the bathroom while Cowboy was away on a hunting trip.
I have absolutely no idea why he got so upset…
COWBOY: What are your plans while I’m hunting?
ME: I was thinking about painting the kids bathroom along with their linen closets. They picked out a fish theme so they are very excited about it!
Four days later-
Cowboy is unloading his hunting bags from his truck and I meet him at the front door.
ME: Promise me you won’t get upset.
COWBOY: (chuckling) It depends on what you’ve done.
ME: Umm… okay but it wasn’t my fault.
Cowboy walks into the bathroom and starts shaking his head (he is no longer chuckling).
COWBOY: Tammy! What have you done? You said you were going to paint it, not demolish it. How did this happen?
ME: I promise it started with just painting. And then I decided that it would look better if we added a pedestal sink. Which then made the flooring look awkward, so, I ripped it up. Once I finished tearing up the flooring, I decided that we needed new light fixtures. But the good news is that the existing toilet and bathtub will look great with my vision once it’s finished, don’t ya think?
COWBOY: What I think is that your visions always cost us money and I also think that you’ve made a mess of things and you’re the only one to blame.
ME: It wasn’t me, it was HGTV. They always make projects look so easy.
COWBOY: (still not chuckling) Last time I checked this ain’t no HGTV.
’til next Sunday y’all- xo, Tammy
