As I sat down to write the blog story for this week I realized that I was humming the Green Acres theme song. Of all of the songs to be stuck in my head. Believe you me, I’d much rather be humming along to the new Keith Urban song “God whispered your name”. That song tugs at my heart every time I hear it. Which by my count is 147 times…so far.
My humming to Green Acres got me to thinking that maybe Cowboy and I needed our own theme song. And, hear me when I say this, just because we have a theme song doesn’t mean we’ll be sporting matching shirts.
Sweet Jesus, I just had a vision of him wearing a cheetah print shirt with his wranglers. That’s a no-go. Let’s just say that I will not be complaining about his signature look of tan shirts and those awesome fitting wranglers anymore.

Feel free to sing along-
ME:
Green Acres is the place to be (so he says),
Country livin’ is for him, not me.
Plenty of land for the critters to hide,
How’d he get me out here by his side?
COWBOY:
This country livin’ isn’t all that bad,
It’s a heck of a lot better than the “city” one we had.
You’ll like it soon enough, don’t fret,
I’ll make a cowgirl out of you just yet.
ME:
Umm.. have you seen me ride a horse?
Flip flops flying, chafed thighs, could it get any worse?
New York is where I’d rather stay,
I too am allergic to hay.
COWBOY: The chores.
ME: The stores.
COWBOY: Fresh air.
ME: My hair.
COWBOY: You are my wife.
ME: Goodbye city life. Cowboy I love you but give me Park Avenue.
COWBOY & ME:
Green Acres we are there.
’til next Sunday y’all- 𝔁𝓸, 𝓣𝓪𝓶𝓶𝔂 ❥
