As I was driving home from work one day, I realized that every day God gives us a gift of what he created. The sky was a perfect color of blue, the trees were a beautiful shade of green and the clouds looked like pieces of white cotton candy that floated effortlessly thru the sky.
God presents us with some amazing backgrounds. We just need to slow down and appreciate them from time to time.
Anyhoo, on with another story-
Cowboy had built a gate for our entrance and I had mentioned to him that we should put 4G on it or maybe a sign that reads “Welcome y’all”. One morning as I’m leaving the house and driving out I noticed Cowboy was setting up his welding equipment. I reminded him about my idea and I also reminded him that I usually have really good ideas and he needed to listen to me. He chuckled and said “I bet you do”.
On my drive to work, I started thinking of how well Cowboy and I work together. We had finished quite a few projects out here on 4G and things were moving right along. I came up with the great ideas and he did the work….in my world everything was perfect.
My work day ended and I called to let him know I was on my way home and that I was excited to see what he welded. He said “you’re gonna love it”!
As I crossed the cattleguard and drove down our dirt road I noticed Cowboy was standing in front of the gate with a big smile on his face.
ME: Aww, you’re so romantic, waiting for me at our gate.
Walking towards the gate I said “let me see what you did”. He stepped to the side to show me.
ME: No! Are you kidding me?! You did not put that on our gate!
Y’all! He welded the words “Go Away” on OUR gate! This was NOT what I had envisioned…what was he thinking AND what are the neighbors going to think?
ME: (Furiously letting him know how I feel) *!!*%%% What did you do? Why on earth would you put that on our gate? People are going to think we don’t want them to visit us.
COWBOY: That’s kind of what I was thinking.
Sweet Jesus… please give me strength because I’m about to kill me a cowboy.
’til next Sunday y’all- Tammy
