I was just getting home from work (by the way… I LOVE what I do, but that’s another story) and it was the perfect time of the day to snap a picture. God presents us with some amazing backgrounds. We just need to slow life down and take advantage of his photo ops and let him know that he does great work!
The trees are that perfect shade of green and the sky looks as if the clouds are floating effortlessly through it.
Cowboy had built a gate for our entrance and I had mentioned to him that we should put our last name on it to make it easier for friends & family to find us. After all, we do live out in the boonies so some sort of a landmark is always helpful. One morning as I’m leaving the house and driving out I noticed Cowboy was setting up his welding equipment. I reminded him about putting our name on the gate and maybe “4G”. I told him that he should listen to me because I had some really great ideas (really really great ideas). He chuckled and said “I bet you do”.
On my drive to work, I started thinking of how well Cowboy and I work together. We had finished quite a few projects out here on 4G and things were moving right along. I came up with the great ideas and he did the work….in my world everything was perfect. My work day ended and I called to let him know I was on my way home and that I was excited to see what he had done. He said “you’re gonna love it”!
As I turned onto our road I noticed Cowboy was standing in front of the gate and he was smiling (I thought, this man is so sweet… waiting for me to get home). I pulled in and parked where he was standing. I said “let me see what you did”. He stepped to the side and I looked at the gate and did a double take, I COULD NOT believe he put “Go Away” on OUR gate! This was NOT what I had envisioned…what was he thinking AND what were the neighbors going to think?
ME: Why on earth would you put that on our gate? People are going to think we’re rude and we don’t want them to visit us.
COWBOY: That’s kind of what I was thinking.
Sweet Jesus… please give me strength because I’m about to kill me a cowboy.
’til next Sunday y’all- Tammy
