Have y’all met my mom? For those of you that have, you know that she is pretty much the best human on God’s green earth. She is fun and full of youth. She is kind, caring and non-judgmental. She’s the kind of person that would give you the shirt off of her back. My mom loves with her whole heart. Especially when it comes to her family. So when I tell you this I don’t want you to judge her.
My mom is a kleptomaniac.
Just kidding. HOWEVER, she does tend to borrow earrings from me and NOT return them. Like ever.
For Christmas last year I decided to fix the stolen earrings situation and gift her an earring tree. I bought every kind of earring I could find and I tied them to a personal-sized Christmas tree just for her. She had studs, hoops and dangle earrings in every size and color.
One would think that this would put her kleptomaniac ways to rest (lol).
And then this happened…
Mom comes to visit me at the spa for a facial-
I’m wrapping her hair in a towel and I look at her ears to make sure I don’t catch her earrings in the towel…
ME: Mom, are those my earrings?
I kid you not, this was her response-
MOM: (she puts her hands over her ears) Shoot! I didn’t mean to wear these here.
I nearly peed on myself laughing so hard. My mama done hijacked my earrings AGAIN!
ME: MOM! I bought you a ton of earrings so this wouldn’t happen.
MOM: I couldn’t help it Tammy, I like these earrings too. And, they look better on me than they looked on you. So I took them.
Sweet Jesus. What am I going to do with this woman?!
