Every couple has “their song”. Those words that truly symbolize their “coupleship”. That song that makes both of you ooey gooey inside. Okay, the ooey gooey part is for the ladies. I honestly don’t know what guys feel when they hear the perfect song. Let’s think about this for just a smidge… nope, I got nothing.
Did I ever tell you about the time I strutted myself up on a stage and attempted karoke? Yep, that was quite a defining moment in young Tammy’s life. I blame my friends. Those heifers. (You know who you are). We all have those friends that can pretty much talk you into anything especially if there are alcoholic beverages involved. Or in my case beverage (singular) because this gal has never been drunk. I know this little fun fact surprises everyone but I speak the truth! I was the girl that enjoyed laughing at the drunk people at the parties. People can think of the craziest things to do when they are riding high on the alcohol cloud, but that’s another story.
Back to “our song” or should I say “Cowboy’s song” to me.
Cowboy and I were driving just the other day and a Brad Paisley song came on the radio “She’s everything”. I press the volume knob to turn it up.
She’s Everything by Brad Paisley Lyrics – YouTube
ME: This is your song to me. Every time I hear it, I can see the words coming out of your mouth.
COWBOY: (chuckling) Why do you get to pick out my song to you?
ME: Because I’m good at choosing songs. And if I left it up to you, it would never get done. Why? What song would you choose for me?
COWBOY: (chuckling, again) I didn’t realize there was a rule that I had to have a song.
ME: That’s why you have me. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it for you.
COWBOY: Okay, you do that. But just so you know, I’m pretty sure “that song” hasn’t been written yet.
ME: Why would you say that? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
COWBOY: It’s just a thing. After 32 years I still think there are sides to you that I haven’t seen yet. It must be exhausting being you.
ME: It is…wait, what?!
’til next Sunday y’all- xo Tammy
