I love working! I love everything about it. I have worked since I was 15 years old. I am very fortunate that I still enjoy doing what I do. I have met the most amazing women in my line of work. Many of them have become my closest girlfriends. Girlfriends who I would lunch with, shop for that perfect pencil skirt with and do “girl stuff” with.
I come from a family of “workers”. My dad was military and my mom always worked when we were growing up. How she managed 5 children AND a full time job is simply a miracle in my mind. Go mom!! I want to be just like her when I grow up!
Cowboy’s family was the complete opposite. My sweet mother in law was a stay at home mom while his dad worked. I remember her telling stories of how she would lock herself in the bathroom just for some peace and quiet, haha.
One day Cowboy and I were discussing our
“future family”. He had mentioned that he would like for me to stay home with our “future kiddos”.
ME: Why is it that I’m expected to hang up my pencil skirts and be the one to stay home?
COWBOY: One reason (as he puts one of his hands in his perfectly fitting wrangler pockets and leans on the kitchen counter).
ME: Oh yeah, what? And don’t tell me its because your a man and I’m a woman. I never pegged you for that kind of person. The world has changed a lot since the “Me Tarzan, You Jane” days! You need to get with the program Cowboy!
COWBOY: Nope, that wasn’t what I was going to say at all. And you need to calm down a bit.
ME: Okay, then why?
COWBOY: I make more money than you do.
ME: Good point.
That’s my Cowboy…man of few words and gets straight to the point.
