My poor Cowboy. Sometimes I wonder why he’s still around. Then I remember that everyone needs someone in their lives to tell them how bad their ideas are. And he is that person for me. And I also remember that I bring so much sunshine to his life..so so much..sunshine.
Here’s Tammy’s crazy-bad idea #184 which added to Cowboy’s arsenal of my craziness. But I will tell you the same thing I told Cowboy and Boy Wonder…never underestimate the power of my crazy-bad ideas because in the end they ALWAYS work out. Well maybe not all of them (insert cross-eyed smiley face emoji). I will also tell you that it was this exact conversation that I realized just how much alike Cowboy and Boy Wonder truly are. Especially when it comes to my ideas.
ME: (Speaking excitedly to Cowboy) Can you please hook the trailer onto my SUV? I’m heading to Austin to pick up those hand-carved doors I told you about!
COWBOY: (Looking at me like I’m crazy) Why would I do that? You don’t know how to pull a trailer. We’ve had this conversation before.
ME: That was then, this is now. I’ve gotten way better at it.
COWBOY: When have you practiced?
ME: Umm… I haven’t BUT I feel confident that I can do it!
COWBOY: Can you back it up?
ME: I don’t need to. I just need to go forward. And besides, I’ll have Red with me.
COWBOY: Does Red know how to back up a trailer?
ME: Umm…I’m not sure but she’s a really good driver!
COWBOY: This is a bad idea.
I finally convince him (in my convincing ways) to hook up the trailer and off I go to pick up Red. As I drive up to her and Boy Wonder’s house, I notice Boy Wonder working in the garage and he comes out to meet me.
ME: Good morning, is Red ready?
BOY WONDER: (My son of few words. Just like his dad.) Yes.
ME: Okay great!
BOY WONDER: When did you learn to drive a trailer?
ME: Who me? Oh I learned years ago!
BOY WONDER: Really? Do you know how to back it up?
Geez, what is it with the whole “backing it up” thing?
ME: No, but I can go forward REALLY well!
BOY WONDER: This is a bad idea.
‘Til next Sunday y’all- xo, Tammy
