Each summer I look for a different way to accessorize my outfits. The one element that you will find in my closet every year is some sort of straw, rattan or wicker accessory. I was first introduced to rattan when I was traveling in Europe with a friend. We were browsing inside the different boutiques when I spotted the beach bag in a display window. I crossed the cobblestoned street, went inside and I scooped that bag up so fast, people around me didn’t know what to think! A round rattan beach bag with colorful embellishments, it was perfect! When I travel, I always look for one souvenir piece. I call my collection “travel finds”.
The natural fibers of straw, rattan and wicker welcomes the warmer months and gives my favorite summer dress or linen shorts a sophisticated yet casual look. There is just something about these pieces that makes me want to rent a convertible and head to the beach. Whether that’s my Scala Newport Straw hat, my Tory Burch espadrille sandals or one of the smaller details like in a belt, ring or my Santos Hoop Earrings. Here are some of my go-to pieces.
