Each season I search for a new eau de parfum or perfume. I’ve never been one of those gals that has a favorite scent to be worn daily, no matter the season. I honestly think that in my past life, I was a gypsy. I have never feared change. Ok, that’s not totally true. I fear gray hair and have been fighting that change since I turned 45. And the struggle is real y’all. Thank the sweet lord for my amazing hairstylist who keeps my hair healthy and grayless.
So, back to my seasonal scents. Once I find a scent, I immerse myself in it. Body lotion, body shampoo, body oil and perfume…I love it all. But in moderation. I learned that a lady never wants her perfume to enter a room before she does. But she does want it to linger just a smidge when she leaves.
Most of the time Cowboy will tell me that he likes “my smell”. He’s so romantic. But sometimes he does not.
One morning I was just about to walk out of the door for work.
COWBOY: (opening the door for me, he’s such a gentleman) You smell like Vicks.
ME: What? I didn’t use any Vicks.
COWBOY: It’s not a bad thing. I’m just saying…you smell like Vicks.
Not thinking much of it, (he’s a guy, and most guys don’t get the whole perfume thing) so I head off to work. The next morning the same thing happens, he tells me that I smell like Vicks. So I go back in my bathroom, grab my perfume bottle and take it to him.
ME: Smell this.
COWBOY: How did they get Vicks into a bottle?
ME: This is Coco Chanel, it does not smell like that!
COWBOY: (chuckling) Coco le Vicks is more like it.
ME: I’m going to be late coming home tonight.
COWBOY: Do you have a meeting?
ME: No, apparently I’m going shopping for another perfume.
’til next Sunday y’all- Tammy
