My travel squad (Laney, Gina & I) visited Tamarindo, Costa Rica (this was a non-Cowboy trip) and fell in love with the villa we stayed at. Casa Monacita is an exquisite 3 story villa with panoramic views of the ocean. To get to the villa required climbing a hill that left us totally out of breath! At times Laney decided it was too much so she would stop and lay down on the dirt road (that’s my girl)! We were able to meet Mona, the owner of the villa and she was an incredible host. She went sailing with us and hired a singer for our last night in Tamarindo to serenade us as the sun was setting. There were several verandas that you could watch the majestic sunsets from. When we travel, we want to explore and learn about the culture. We were lucky enough to befriend Kenir. He is the owner of Kayaktamarindo.com and has several boats, kayaks, paddle boards and canoes. Kenir volunteered to take us exploring of the different beaches in Costa Rica. Wow, I had no idea there were so many! My favorite was Playa Conchol (shell beach). We experienced local food, which was delish and consisted of freshly grilled red snapper, fruits, plantains and rice. The total bill for all of us was $28!
Tamarindo is truly a place to live life at a slower pace- PURA VIDA!
