Did I mention that my favorite way to spend a Sunday is to be in my hammock and browse thru my favorite magazines: Tuscan Homes, Southern Living and Cowboys & Indians? I get inspired in so many ways!
Have you and your spouse ever built anything together? Anything? Well for me and my cowboy we pretty much have it down to a science. I tell him my perfect ideas and he listens… ok, that is NEVER the way it turns out! But I have narrowed down the problem to one MINOR thing: he has NO IDEA what I’m talking about. This dude cannot join in my vision AND it’s really putting a damper on my creative juices!
I decided to take matters into my own hands. (I know, scary right?) but if we were going to survive ANOTHER building project
and let me just tell you…
I would rather poke myself in the eye with a No. 2 pencil rather than experience another bonding session with Cowboy! A bonding session that requires tools, nails and drills, no thanks…NOT INTERESTED! So, I devised a way to make things easier for him to grasp my concepts and “become one” with my creative ideas. It’s a PERFECT solution… and he’ll love it!
I will make a scrapbook of all the building ideas that I’ve saved from my favorite magazines. That will solve all of our problems!! No more misunderstandings. He can see EXACTLY what I’m trying to explain to him in laymen’s terms. Easy peasy!
Cowboy comes home from work and I tell him my idea.
ME: I made a book of my ideas for all of our 4G projects!
COWBOY: Oh great.
ME: Okay Cowboy, I’m going to need to see a little more enthusiasm coming from your end.
COWBOY: Yay.
Obviously he does not share in my excitement. – ’til next Sunday ya’ll
